While ModelCentro does not impose any restrictions on your uploading speed—we utilize as much bandwidth as your Internet Service Provider (ISP) permits—it's essential to recognize that the time it takes to upload a video or photoset to ModelCentro can be influenced by factors beyond our control.

If you're experiencing slower than anticipated uploads, several elements could be at play, including:

  1. Internet Connection: A vital aspect impacting the upload process. Potential issues include:

    • Suboptimal upload speeds with your Internet plan.

    • Time of day or ISP peak usage hours.

    • High traffic on your local network.

    • Incorrect network, firewall, or router settings.

You can perform a preliminary check on speedtest.net to verify your upload speed and confirm the upload speed of your Internet plan with your ISP. However, be mindful that online speed tests might not always provide accurate results due to various influencing factors such as the test server's location.

  2. Hardware and Software: Simultaneously running programs can significantly slow content upload times by both burdening your CPU and utilizing your Internet connection. For instance, having an email inbox open or being logged into social network pages consumes resources that can affect upload speed.

To enhance your connection, consider the following: - Terminate all file-sharing, download, or upload processes. - Opt for a wired Internet connection or, if using Wi-Fi or mobile broadband, ensure the strongest signal possible. - Close unused browser tabs. - Conduct a virus and spyware scan of your computer.

  3. Content Volume and Quality: Evidently, uploading larger files, such as 100 photos (3MB each) or a 4GB video, will naturally take time. Thus, superior content quality will likely result in slower uploads.

For instance, if you need to upload 20 videos at once, it's advisable not to initiate all uploads simultaneously for reasons previously mentioned. For bulk content uploads, please utilize BitTorrent (guide available).

ModelCentro is actively working to enhance the transparency of the upload process, providing you with insights and notifications, such as upload speed and estimated time remaining, along with upload status visibility in content lists. This transparency aims to help identify the above-mentioned slowdown causes and minimize frustration.

Furthermore, we’re incorporating additional testing and monitoring tools on our end to continually refine the user experience. For example, we’ve addressed an issue with browser-native functions aborting connections during large file uploads by implementing file chunking—dividing a large file into smaller parts for separate uploads. While some challenges, like this one, arise from browser issues rather than our platform, we remain committed to finding solutions.
