Maximize your ModelCentro site's reach by linking an existing domain, even if it's registered through a different registrar.

  1. Initiating Domain Connection:

    • Navigate to "My Site" from the upper menu and select "Settings" on the left.

    • Click "Connect an existing domain".

    • Enter your domain name and click the "Add" button.

Your domain will be listed with a "Pending" status, which may last up to 72 hours. Should an error occur, remove the domain and reinitiate the process.

  2. Configure Domain Records:

To finalize the connection, modify the domain records (A-record, Name Servers, or CNAME) via your current registrar. Assistance with these settings may be sought from your domain provider’s support team. Here are your options for connection:

      • When utilizing a CNAME, your domain remains with your registrar and points toward ModelCentro servers, with the registrar maintaining control over domain records.

      • Opting for Name Servers means the domain remains with your registrar but domain record control is transferred to ModelCentro.

We advocate for the Name Servers method, ensuring a stable connection and automatic activation of new domain-related features and services.

  3. Consideration for Email Hosting:

If your domain hosts an email address (e.g., "mail@myname.com"), altering the name servers will disable that email. To preserve email functionality, choose the CNAME method or modify the A-record for your domain setup.

Each setup option will interact differently with your existing services and provider, so choose the one that aligns best with your needs. Ensure a smooth, user-friendly experience by effectively integrating your domain with ModelCentro.
