If your domain hosts email accounts, subdomains, or other unique services, pointing your domain to ModelCentro using CNAME is a strategic choice, allowing those services to operate without disruption.

Integrating Your Domain to ModelCentro:

If you haven’t already, initiate by integrating your owned domain to the domains section on ModelCentro.

Configuring CNAME:

To direct your domain using CNAME:

  • Alter your DNS settings, or if required, consult your registrar’s support team.

  • Add the subsequent CNAME entry: cname.modelcentro.com

Prior to this, remove any A records tied to the root domain in your DNS. The CNAME entry requires the absence of root domain A records. However, retain any A records not linked to the root domain.

If you're facing challenges, here's a template email for assistance from your registrar's support:

Subject: Need Support in Modifying CNAME

Email Text: Hello [Registrar Support Team], I am aiming to link my domain with a ModelCentro.com platform. For this, I need to adjust my domain’s CNAME to: - cname.modelcentro.com I wish to sustain my domain registration with you, without any transfer. Sincerely, [Your Name]

Points to Remember:

Post the CNAME modification, visitors to www.yourdomain.com will access content from your ModelCentro site. If direct entries to yourdomain.com (excluding the www) aren’t rerouting appropriately, kindly reach out to your domain registrar, requesting a redirect from your domain root to the www variant.

Post-update Period and Troubleshooting:

After updating CNAME records, allow a transition time — up to 72 hours, though usually quicker. Should you witness outdated content or errors on your domain, remain patient, wait a bit, and as a potential remedy, clear your browser cache.
